Barrel Reconditioning Industries, Inc. (BRI) was founded in 1979 to design, manufacture, and install fully automated drum
reconditioning systems.
BRI has designed and manufactured reconditioning systems to process all sizes of steel and
plastic open top and closed top drums (5, 15, 30, 55, 85 gallon drums and
all styles of tote tanks (IBCs)). The
equipment includes drum conversion (tight head to open head), flushing, expanding,
dedenting, acidizing, chiming, drum lining, painting, burning, flame treating, and high
pressure washing. These systems have production rates ranging from 200 drums per 8-hour
shift to 4,800 drums per 8-hour shift.
In addition to building reconditioning systems, BRI has also designed and built
specialized equipment to meet unique needs of customers. The following is a list of some

* Equipment to place radioactive waste mixed with asphalt in a drum for the Department of
Energy.
* A system to decontaminate carcinogenic material from fiber drums and to destroy the drum
for E.I. Dupont in Circleville, Ohio.
* An open head drum reconditioning system for the Department of Energy in Huntsville,
Alabama.
* Drum Decontamination systems for USPCI in Tulsa, Oklahoma & Wichita, Kansas.
* A drum reconditioning system for the Department of Defense at Kelly Air Force Base.
* An IBC (tote) decontamination system for Grief Packaging Company.
